Huddersfield Repeater Group

Welcome to the Huddersfield Repeater Group web site. The site gives useful information on the group's repeaters and up to date news.

The group have managed the repeaters in the Huddersfield area since 1980. The original site for HD was in Almondbury close to the town's landmark, Castlehill. In 1985 the repeater moved to a site on the west side of the town near Crosland Moor. In 1997 the decision was taken to move the repeater to a commercial site and mast. After carrying out many tests the current site was chosen on Scapegoat Hill. This is an excellent site overlooking the town centre and outlying areas. Huddersfield is truely in the heart of the Pennine range and has many steep hills and valleys. This site gives good coverage into the Colne & Holme Valleys, whilst covering districts such as Brighouse, parts of Wakefield, Elland and Halifax.

The group currently operate two voice repeaters, these being GB3HD (70cms) and GB3HX (6m). GB3HD is an echolink node.
